The short version
Remote500 Jobs is an independent job board. We collect as little as the product needs: your email address, a hashed password if you create an account, and a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not sell data, we do not run ad networks, and we do not track you across other sites.

What we collect and why
Email address. Used to create your account, verify it, send password reset links, and send receipts and account emails you request. Verification and reset emails are delivered through Resend.
Password. Stored only as a salted PBKDF2-SHA256 hash. We never see or store your plain password.
Session cookie. A single httpOnly cookie keeps you signed in. It contains a random session token; the database stores only a hash of it.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe (and by Apple for purchases made inside the iOS app, if you use it). Card numbers and full payment details go directly to the payment provider and never reach our servers or database. We store the payment provider's identifiers for your purchases so your access stays attached to your account.
Job listings. Collected from public employer career pages, as described on the How we verify jobs page. This is public job data, not personal data.
Server logs. The site runs on Cloudflare, which keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and abuse prevention.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on the site. We do not share your data with third parties except the processors listed below, doing exactly the jobs described.
Service providers
Cloudflare hosts the site, its API, and its database, and provides security features such as rate limiting.
Stripe processes web payments and subscriptions.
Apple processes payments made inside the iOS app, if you use it.
Resend delivers transactional email (verification, password resets).
Logo.dev serves company logo images; it receives standard image requests from your browser, not your account data.
Retention and backups
Your account stays until you ask us to delete it. Sessions expire on their own. We keep encrypted-at-rest database backups for recovery, and payment records for as long as needed to honor your purchase and meet tax obligations.
Your choices
You can browse the entire public side of the site without an account. If you have one and want it deleted, email us and we will remove your account, sessions, and personal data. Payment records required by law may be retained in minimal form. You can also cancel a subscription at any time from the billing portal or through Apple, depending on where you bought it.
Children
The service is a job board and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and, for account holders, note it in an email before it takes effect.
